Para Elza, memórias dos nossos afetos nasce do encontro entre imagem e memória. Ao mergulhar nos arquivos de família, nos álbuns e fotografias que atravessam gerações, reencontro minha mãe em pequenos retratos 3x4 — fragmentos de sua história que resistem à passagem dos anos.

Cada imagem é um portal para lembranças: a infância ao seu lado, os gestos de cuidado, as conversas que ficaram na memória. O tempo se condensa nesses registros, revelando uma presença que se refaz a cada olhar. Ao reunir esses retratos 3x4 que vão desde sua adolescência até seus últimos dias, componho uma narrativa visual que homenageia não apenas sua beleza, mas também os afetos que nos ligam.

A repetição dos retratos, sua sucessão ao longo dos anos, evidencia as marcas da passagem do tempo, mas também a permanência do que importa. Entre alegria e saudade, revisito nossa história e transformo memória em imagem, presença em arte. Para Elza é, antes de tudo, um gesto de amor — um modo de dizer que aquilo que vivemos juntas segue existindo, atravessando o tempo, reinventando-se naquilo que permanece.

For Elza, memories of our affections is born from the encounter between image and memory. By delving into family archives, albums and photographs that span generations, I rediscover my mother in small 3x4 portraits — fragments of her story that have withstood the passing of time.

Each image is a portal to memories: childhood by her side, gestures of care, conversations that have remained in our memories. Time condenses in these records, revealing a presence that is remade with each look. By bringing together these 3x4 portraits that span from her adolescence to her final days, I compose a visual narrative that pays homage not only to her beauty, but also to the affections that
bind us.

The repetition of the portraits, their succession over the years, highlights the marks of the passage of time, but also the permanence of what matters. Between joy and longing, I revisit our history and transform memory into image, presence into art. For Elza, it is, above all, a gesture of love — a way of saying that what we experienced together continues to exist, crossing time, reinventing itself in what remains.
